Seventy-five cars, trucks, and motorcycles of all types were displayed Saturday for a good cause.
The car show was held at O’Reilly Auto Parts on Blizzard Drive to raise awareness for Toys for Tots as the holiday season rapidly approaches.
Run throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley, as well as across the nation, Toys for Tots is a project to make sure every child has “a little Christmas.”
“Our goal is to raise toys for kids,” says Cliff Hecker. “We do collect some money which we in turn buy toys for kids. Locally, last year we gave away just over thirty-one thousand toys and we expect that number to grow.
The toys for tots of Parkersburg covers Wood, Wirt, Washington, and Jackson counties.
“When you’re a kid you don’t understand how the world works,” says Hecker. “If somebody gave you the gift of a new toy you have the world, the world is yours from there. We want to give a kid that beam of happiness.”
