A 50-year-old Denton man was pronounced dead early Saturday morning after possibly being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash, according to a news release from Denton police.

The pedestrian, identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner as John Myles, was reportedly found lying severely injured sometime after 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the 3500 block of the northbound South Interstate 35E frontage road in front of Medical City Denton.

Investigators believe that Myles, a Denton resident, was struck by a vehicle because auto parts were found at the scene. The vehicle involved was not found.

He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 3 a.m.

Denton police investigators do not currently have any suspects in the case, Officer Bryan Cose said, but are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact police. Lead investigator Officer Bryan Huschke can be reached at 940-349-7941.
