The Role

To lead a supply chain team, for a manufacturing unit, to ensure that functional capability and team performance are built and directed to deliver business plans and targets

Key Accountabilities

Implement the agreed supply chain strategy to achieve budgeted business performance and build the functional capability to deliver business strategic objectives

Provide leadership and direction to ensure that across the business the supply chain team are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential

Promote compliance with and the improvement of safe operating policies and practices across all Supply chain operations within the Business, including third parties to embed a safety first culture within the working environment

Identify new/emerging legal or customer led audit requirements and develop plans to achieve compliance, securing funds if necessary to build systems and processes to maximise adherence to policy

Ensure forecasting, planning, material requisitions, stock control, warehousing, and distribution processes are in place at all locations to ensure customer service expectations are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner

Oversee the deployment of the Sales and Operating planning (S&OP) process to ensure sufficient production capacity, stocks or finished goods and raw materials, and labour are in place to meet customer orders at the best optimum cost

Together with Purchasing, negotiate and manage third party contracts (3PLs) to minimise costs, build effective working relationships and ensure service delivery

Act as the Supply Chain lead in cross functional/customer projects to ensure that all developments include collaborative working which results in successful new implementations and on going service improvement

Skills & Experience

Degree calibre

Broad knowledge of the convenience food market

Broad experience in all supply chain functions: (forecasting, production planning and scheduling, SOP, inventory management, warehousing, distribution planning, distribution operations, 3PL management)

Proven track record of leading and developing teams

Experience of working in a fast paced, growth industry or business

Experience of working as part of a project team or on delivering change initiatives
